I quite liked the first book (which is why I bought the box set), it left you on a cliff hanger but it looked promising. The second and third were okay, but the editing on fourth annoyed me to no end. Our hero went from Lukas Kasper to Casper twice, and Markus did the same, also twice. When the author (or the proof reader) doesn't catch that then I'm left feeling like a dummy who bought something poorly and hastily put together. I don't think I'll try anymore of her books...Product details

Excellent set of contemporary shifter Romance. Each story adds to the previous so it's advisable to purchase the set. The main characters through out are Maren, who happens to be a human and excellent journalist. The male lead is Lukas who is a bear shifter. He's returned during a period of turmoil, grief and to take up the mantel of alpha but there are many that are against him. The stories includes intrigue, suspense, strife but through it all is abiding love. Like any group in society they have those that are prejudiced for one reason or another add to that fear and it makes for volatile situations. I received a free copy of this set solely in exchange for an honest opinion. I look forward to reading more of Ms Sinclair's books in the future.
10 years ago, Lukas Kasper demolished Maren Lene’s heart. She had been in love with him up until he left town and never looked back. Now his brother is dead and he’s back in town to claim her.
One of my least favorite genres is second-chance loves. I hate how all the person that did the damage has to do is come back to town and bat their eyes and the person who was wronged forgives them. Luckily this isn’t one of them. I loved how Maren stood her ground when Lukas came back and basically expected her to fall right back for him. While we do eventually find out what happened with Lukas, learning what he put her through the first time around didn’t exactly score him brownie points, but he does make up for it. I really enjoyed this set and highly recommend it.

This was a really enjoyable series, about shifters, and humans. Shifters are known about, and want more equally. They all have their own territory, but some still fight over boundaries.
Maren, and Lukas grew up together as best friends. Although, she always wanted more. Lukas was a bit of a troubled teen, and his brother Marcus sends him away towards the end of high school. Maren is so upset because he just left with out a word.
Ten years later Marcus, the Alfa of the bear shifters clan dies. Bringing a different Lukas back home, for his brothers funeral, and to take his place as alpha.
That is the very bear bones, of the story. So much happens, there is love, hate, plotting, murder, misunderstandings, it's really a good series with a lot happening. Great characters a plot that is not obvious, and some bad betrayal. Get ready for the ride.
It's not overly sexual however the few places it is, I think it's for older teens + There may have been a random swear, but I don't remember.
Lukas has returned to town after the unexpected death of his brother Marcus. When he left, he broke the heart of Maren. They grew up together as best friends but she cared about him as long as she could remember.
She is now a reporter at the newspaper in town that her father owns Now Lukas is back and he doesn't think his brother's death was an accident. With the Summit coming to town, a huge meeting for shifters, he must find out what happened to his brother and who is trying to sabotage the Summit, and Maren can help......
I did enjoy Lukas and Maren's story but I have to admit I never would have read it if I didn't get the complete book as I do not like serialized books. As far as their relationship went, the story had closure but I did feel like there is more to come which is ok.
Lukas needed the time away to grow up and become responsible as much as Maren did when she was away at College, but Maren learns that his brother Marcus played a more supportive role then everyone thought as Lukas had a tendency to find trouble as a teen.
Shifter's are now recognized in the country at this point but there is still a long way to go. Maren's father certainly didn't want her with Lukas.
A few twists in the story come about as they discover the truth and what the perpetrator expected to gain. Now they just need to stay strong........together.
Another story is coming out about the character, policeman Billy. It looks good and I may check it out as it is a complete book.

This set of four books read like one nicely sized novel when put all together. While there is some mystery thrown in, it's really a lost-loves-reunited type of read for me.
Maren has lived in a shifter inhabited town for most of her life. She even returned to the small town after graduating college. While Greyelf is one constant in her life, her love for the bad boy in town, Lukas, is her other constant. She's tried to move on, especially after he abandoned her without a word one day, but her feelings just won't go away. It looks like she might be safe, until his older brother (and alpha of the bear shifters) turns up dead.
Lukas isn't as much of a bad boy anymore, but he's still governed largely by his emotions. That's probably why when he shows up at the hospital to see his brother's body he heads right towards his childhood friend, Maren. These two are both guilty of hiding their feelings throughout the years, but 10 years changes a lot of things.
Aside from the delicate dance these two do to end up together, we also get a mystery in the form of the alpha's murder. Throw in some pack politics, evil-doers, and judgmental fathers and you've got a solid read.
